Egypt lose to Argentina at 2017 FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship
Argentina beat Egypt in a thrilling 4-3 match in Pool A at the 2017 FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship on Thursday.
The competition, which is being held in Slovenia, is being played under a new 7 set scoring, 15 point scoring format.
Argentina’s Sol Piccolo and Egypt’s Aya Elshamy were their country’s top scorers with 24 points and 15 points, respectively in the game which saw Argentina win 4-3 (15-10, 15-6, 16-14, 14-16, 13-15, 11-15, 15-11).
Previously, Egypt had recorded the first African win in the history of the FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship.
As it stands now, Egypt sit in fourth place after picking up a point from their Thursday’s encounter. They take on group leaders Slovenia next, who are yet to lose a match.
