VIDEO: Kouka scores in Sporting Braga win over Tondela
Egyptian international Ahmed Hassan Kouka scored in Braga’s 2-1 win over Tondela in the seventh round of the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
The 24-year-old started the game and scored in back-to-back games for the first time this season as Sporting Braga claimed their fourth league win of the season.
Tondela didn’t enjoy a good start as their defender Fahd Moufi was sent-off just four minutes into the game, however they opened the scoreline in the 18th minute through Murilo.
Kouka equalised for Sporting Braga a minute before half time, taking his tally this season to three goals in six league games.
In the 46th minute, former Portugal and Valencia defender Ricardo Costa scored an own goal to give Sporting Braga the lead.
Ahmed Hassan received a yellow card in the 59th minute and was replaced by Dyego Sousa in the 77th minute. Both sides failed to score further goals and the game finished 2-1 for Braga.
Following this result, Sporting Braga currently sit fifth and their next game will be against Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir in the Europa League on Thursday, September 28.
It’s worth mentioning that Kouka is among 14-foreign based players called up by Héctor Cúper for Egypt’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Congo on Sunday, October 8.
