chairman believes the Red Devils perform better under pressure after his side reached the semi-final of the CAF Champions League.

Al Ahly, who were held by Esperance Sportive de Tunis to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the quarter final at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Stadium, fought back and earned a 2-1 victory in Rades to book their spot in the next round.

“Al Ahly always play better under pressure. This is why I expected us to win,” Taher said following the victory.

“I thank the technical staff and the players for their performance today.

“Our target is to win the CAF Champions League title,” he added.

The record eight-time African champions will now face the winner between Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel and Libya’s Ahli Tripoli.
