VIDEO: Alexander Jakobsen scores first goal for IFK Norrköping in league win
Danish-born, Egypt attacking midfielder Jakobsen scored his first Swedish top flight goal for IFK Norrköping in a comfortable away win.
It took six minutes for IFK Norrköping to find the net against, their hosts, Hammarby IF. The goal was scored by Alexander Jakobsen. He created space past his marker, inside the box, before beating the goalkeeper at the far post.
A second goal came for the visitors and Jakobsen had a hand in it. He set up, teammate, Thorarinsson for a simple finish in the 34th minute.
IFK Norrköping could have scored more goals as they created many more scoring opportunities in the second half. But they had to do with a solid 2-0 win that saw them return to winning ways in the Allsvenskan.
On his goal and assist, Jakobsen said, “feels very good, I’ve worked hard for it and I’m glad we got three points for the club and for the fans.”
The 23 year old is born of an Egyptian father and a Danish mother. He has previously played for the Danish youth teams at U-17 and U-19 level but chose to represent Egypt. He has earned one call up to the Pharaoh’s team under Cuper’s reign.
The win left IFK Norrköping on fourth with 43 points from 26 matches. The club lies four points outside a Europa League qualification slot. They next play, league leaders, Malmo after the International break.
