Guinea match is crucial, says Tunisia coach Nabil Maaloul
Even though Tunisia are currently leading group A with 10 points after three wins and one draw, Maaloul, who was appointed as the Tunisia national team manager in April, thinks that second-placed DR Congo can still compete against his team for the top position.
“We haven’t qualified to the World Cup yet,” Maaloul told ON Sport TV channel. “I know that Tunisian fans believe that we have qualified but as the team’s coach I believe that we still have two games to play and we have to win both of them.”
The Eagles of Carthage will be facing Guinea on Saturday in Stade 28 Septembre in Conakry, while Libya will be hosting DR Congo on the same day.
“Our match against Guinea will be crucial because DR Congo are only three points away from us. Hopefully, Libya can achieve a good result when they face Guinea, however, we always control our own faith,” he added.
In the final round of the qualifiers, Tunisia will be hosting Libya on November 6 and DR Congo will be hosting Guinea.
