40,000 to attend Al Ahly’s Champions League clash with Étoile du Sahel
Al Ahly have revealed that 40,000 fans will be allowed to attend their side’s clash with Étoile Sportive du Sahel in the Champions League in Alexandria.
The Red Devils are set to host Étoile du Sahel at Borg El-Arab stadium in the return-leg of the semi-finals after losing the first-leg 2-1 in Sousse.
CAF have announced that the second-leg of the semi-finals will take place at Borg El-Arab, Alexandria on Sunday, October 22 at 19:00 CLT, with Al Ahly needing to win at least 1-0 in Alexandria to advance to the final.
The security officials agreed to allow 40,000 fans to attend the crucial encounter this month, as the Reds seek their first Champions League title since 2013.
It’s worth mentioning that the security allowed 20,000 fans to attend Al Ahly’s Champions League clash against Espérance last September, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Eight-time Champions League winners Al Ahly are the only Egyptian club remaining in African competitions after Zamalek, Smouha and Al Masry were knocked out of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
