Al Ahly announce squad for Egypt Cup final

Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has announced his 21-man squad that will face Ittihad of Alexandria in Matchday 5 for the Egyptian Premier League.

The Red Devils holding a single point in the table are still three games late due to their participation in CAF Champions League, awaiting their return-leg clash in the CAF semi-finals with Tunisia’s Étoile Sportive du Sahel which will take place at Borg El-Arab Stadium on Sunday, October 22.

Tunisia international Ali Maaloul and Egypt’s Ahmed Fathi will be missing out on the game El-Badry opted to rest both players following their return from the national break after their heroic role with their respective national teams in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Also Sabry Rahil, Ahmed El-Sheikh, Amr Barakat and Bassem Ali were all excluded from the list for technical reasons.

Saad Samir is back to the list after his long recuperation break but Abdallah El-Said is sidelined as he is still struggling with his hamstring injury.

Al Ahly squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim, Mohamed El-Shennawy

Defenders: Mohamed Naguib, Ramy Rabia, Saad Samir, Hussien El-Sayed, Mohamed Hany, Ayman Ashraf.

Midfielders:  Amr El-Sulaya, Hossam Ashour, Saleh Gomaa, Momen Zakaria, Walid Soliman, Akram Tawfik, Ahmed Hamoudi, Karim ‘Nedved’.

Forwards: Emad Meteb, Walid Azarou, Junior Ajayi, Ahmed Yasser Rayan
