Egypt among most nations to request World Cup tickets
Egypt are on the list of most requested World Cup tickets by a nation after their World Cup qualification on Sunday.
The Pharaohs have officially qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 28 years after their 2-1 victory over Congo at Borg El-Arab stadium, thanks to a brace from Mohamed Salah.
Egypt are now sitting top of group E in the World cup qualifiers with 12 points, four above second-placed Uganda with, who have eight points. Ghana sit third with six points, while Congo are bottom of the group with only one point.
Two million tickets have been requested so far, with the Russians leading the way as around 70% of ticket requests are from the host country.
Meanwhile 30% of the tickets were requested globally, with Egypt making the top 10 list after qualifying for the first time since 1990.
The Pharaohs are on the list alongside, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, United States, Argentina, China and Colombia.
It’s worth mentioning that the World Cup is set to kick-off on the 14th of June and until now there are 23 out of 32 teams qualified to play in Russia; Egypt, Nigeria, Iran, Japan, Korea Republic, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay.
