star has thanked Egypt international for his support in the recent period ahead of Syria’s World Cup Asian playoff encounter against Australia.

Syria’s fairytale of making the World Cup was shattered after they sustained a narrow second leg 2-1 defeat after veteran striker Tim Cahill scored two headers, one each half.

Al Somah was on target for Qasioun Eagles in both legs of the playoffs but his two goals were not enough for Syria’s fabulous story in the qualifiers to move further.

“I thank [Mohamed] Salah on what he has done and his lasting support to Syria. We have been in constant touch in the recent period,” Al Ahli KSA striker told MBC.

“I promise all Syrians that I will always be available for the Syrian national team. I regret that I spent a long period away from the team. I also promise them to battle to win the Asian Cup, not just participate in it,” he added.

Cahill scored his second goal in the second half of extra time. I’m getting more and more disappointed with kingfut. More quantity, less quality? If you haven’t seen the match, at least do some proper research, man.
