Mahmoud Gaber named Coach of the Month in Qatar
The former Ismaily gaffer has been awarded Coach of the Month after picking up 7 points from 3 games for the Doha club.
Wins against Al-Kharitiyath and Al-Ahli either side of a draw away at Al-Gharafa secured the award for Gaber, who has been coaching Umm-Salal since December 2016.
Gaber, the father of Basel and Egypt right back Omar Gaber, beat the likes of Djamel Belmadi and former Zamalek coach Jesualdo Ferreira to the award, both of which are above Umm-Salal in the league with Al-Duhail and Al-Sadd respectively.
The main source of goals has been from former Ivory Coast international and Hull City striker Yannick Sagbo who has been in Qatar since 2015.
This is not the first time that Gaber has won Coach of the Month, having picked up the award in February and March this year.
Gaber’s next tasks will be three home games on the bounce against Al-Arabi, Al-Duhail and Al-Khor, starting with the former.
