Stoke City want to keep Ramadan Sobhi, says agent
Agent of Ramadan Sobhi shut down transfer rumors linking the Egypt international with a move away from Stoke City, insisting that the Potters are keen on keeping him within their squad.
Sobhi’s few appearances with his club and the disappointing performances with the national team put him under criticism, but Shawky responded saying that Sobhi’s “mentality has changed.”
“Ramadan has become more of a technical player, this is the issue that we are trying to work on now. He keeps hearing that he has to run all the 90 minutes and that he needs to defend,” Shawky said in a radio interview. “He still needs to find the right balance.”
When asked if the 20-year-old winger will be leaving the club, even if on loan, his agent insisted that Stoke are keen on keeping him within their ranks, which is why they’ve renewed his contract. “Stoke paid their final installment, but Al Ahly haven’t received it yet because they have some legal issues,” said Shawky.
Sobhi played 17 matches with the Potters last season and was promised that he will play more this season, which according to his agent has been happening.
He played seven games so far for the club this season, and came on in the 53rd minute of Man City’s thrashing of Stoke. Following the loss, Stoke currently occupy the 17th league spot with eight points and are set to face Bournemouth on October 21.
