Head of Cairo Stadium has denied any direct contact between Zamalek and the stadium’s management to host the White Knights’ home games..
Zamalek president Mortada Mansour stated that all upcoming Zamalek games will be held at the Cairo Stadium, with the official Zamalek Facebook page communicating that Cairo Stadium will host the White Knights’ home games starting from the eighth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
However, head of the stadium Ali Darwish turned down the claims of the Zamalek president.
“Zamalek are yet to send an official request to play at the stadium. We don’t mind hosting any of the Zamalek or Al Ahly games,” Darwish told a local radio station.
“We approved Al Ahly’s request to host their games, but it all depends on the security officials’ approval.”
Darwish has also affirmed that the stadium will host the Egypt national team’s camp as they prepare for a friendly against the United Arab Emirates.
