Salah in contention for Champions League Player of the Week

Liverpool winger was named among the candidates of the Player of the Week award after his brilliant performance against Maribor.

Liverpool have achieved an overwhelming 7-0 victory over the Slovenian side in the third round of the group stage. The game saw Salah has score twice, assiste once, and was also voted Liverpool’s Man of the Match.

The list includes the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Eden Hazard.

The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and made two assists in 13 appearances since his move to the Anfield side. The Reds are currently on top of Group E with five points from three games, but hold the 8th place in the English Premier League with 13 points after the conclusion of eight rounds.

In case Salah succeeds in winning the POTW award, it will be the second time this season after clinching the award in the first round of group stage.
