Argentina legend has sent a message to and following the Pharaohs qualification to the 2018 World Cup.

The Pharaohs booked their place in the World Cup for the first time in 27 years after beating Congo 2-1 at Borg El-Arab Stadium. They managed to qualify with one match to spare against Ghana to be played in November.

Maradona spoke about the national team before their crucial encounter with Congo and has spoken again to ONsport, praising Egypt and Mohamed Salah following the qualification.

“I hope the Egyptian national team enjoy the tournament. I rate them as a team of champions, qualifying for the World Cup is a goal everyone wants to achieve,” Maradona told ONsport.

The football legend continued by talking about Mohamed Salah’s abilities on the pitch saying, “He [Salah] is a fast and smart player who has the ability to play with his head.

“He knows where to move in the pitch whether on the left or the right. He learned all of that in Italy as this is the Italian style of play,” he added.

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
