Mortada Mansour: Zamalek were facing sorcery today
Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has accused former president Mamdouh Abbas and Smouha president Farag Amer of using sorcery and magic after Zamalek’s 3-0 defeat to Smouha.
Zamalek suffered their first loss this term in the Egyptian Premier League. Mohamed Hamdi Zaky opened the score for Smouha right before the half-time whistle, Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz added the second before Patrick Malo confirmed the victory for the Alexandria-based club with a third goal at the final minute of the game.
“The reasons behind this defeat? Ask Mamdouh Abbas and Farag Amer about their doings. Mamdouh Abbas brought a magician from Morocco. Numerous missed chances in front of goal, the same happened against ENPPI and Tanta. We were facing sorcery today,” Mansour told DMC Sports.
“Farag Amer told me personally that he pays a guy 5000 EGP for domestic games and 5000 USD for African games to do this stuff, whoever does not want to believe me and laugh is free to do. The players did everything they could but the ball did not want to enter, while Smouha went with three chances and converted the three of them.”
This is not the first time the 65-year-old president blames magic for a defeat to his team, as he stated before that sorcery was a major factor in Zamalek’s CAF Champions League final loss against Mamelodi Sundowns last year.
