Mohamed Hamdy Zaki scores as Smouha defeats Zamalek

Mohamed Hamdy Zaki scored as Smouha defeated Zamalek 3-0 in the sixth fixture of the Egyptian Premier League.

The White Knights nearly took the lead just 3 minutes into the game, however, Salah Ashour’s powerful shot hit the post.

In the 24th minute, Hazem Emam passed the ball to Kasongo, but the Congolese poor finish from close range kept the score 0-0.

In the dying moments of the first half, Hamdy Zaki took the lead from Smouha, as his world class volley found the back of the net from a long range.

20 minutes after the break, Mahmoud Abdelaziz doubled the lead for the away side following a perfect counter attack by Smouha.

To rub salt into the wound, Patrick Malo concerted the ball into the back of Zamalek’s net from a close range in the final minute of the game, to make it 3-0.

Following the loss, Zamalek currently occupy the fifth league spot with nine points, while Smouha sits third with 12 points.

It is worth mentioning that, The Whites are set to face Mido’s Wadi Degla on the 28th of October, while Smouha will face El-Geish on the 27th of the same month.

Mohammed Salama is a 21-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
