EFA suspend Zamalek defender Ali Gabr
Zamalek’s defender, Ali Gabr, has been suspended by the Egyptian Football Association on Sunday due to late payments to his agent.
Gabr’s agent, Mohamed Shiha, had filed a complaint to the EFA, as Gabr had failed to pay the agent’s 10% share from the player’s transfer from Ittihad of Alexandria to Zamalek in 2014.
The EFA have announced that the defender will not be able to participate with his side until the agent receives his late dues.
Gabr has been a vital part of Zamalek’s team for the past three years, in spite of the frequent change in the managerial staff.
He has made 117 appearances for the White Castle since his arrival, winning the Premier League title once in 2015 and two domestic cups in 2015 and 2016.
The 28-year old featured in his team’s 3-0 defeat against Smouha in the sixth week of the Egyptian Premier League last Friday.
