Hossam El-Badry asks fans not to overhype Walid Azarou
Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has asked the fans not to overhype Walid Azarou after his hat-trick against Étoile Sportive du Sahel on Sunday.
The Moroccan has played a massive role in helping his club reach the CAF Champions League final after netting three times against Étoile du Sahel as well as assisting Rami Rabia’s strike.
“The positives of the match are the big win and Walid Azarou’s goals,” El-Badry told Radio Hits.
“I asked everyone to be patient with Azarou because as long as he misses opportunities, it’s a positive sign for him as a striker. It means he is capable of creating chances and is well positioned, luck was all he was missing.
“Every striker has certain characteristics, there is a player who is strong, quick, skillful and likes to get past the defenders and another who positions himself inside the box to score goals.
“The hat-trick Azarou scored is an important step but we do not want to exaggerate it. He hasn’t achieved anything yet and we are expecting more from him,” El-Badry concluded.
Al Ahly will host Wydad Casablanca on Sunday, October 28 in the CAF Champions League final, before travelling to face them in Morocco a week later.
