Trezeguet scores brace, assists as Kasimpasa thrash Belediyespor in Cup

Egypt international scored a brace and provided an assist in Kasimpasa’s 5-1 victory over Nigde Belediyespor in the fourth round of the Turkish Cup.

Ali Akburç opened the scoring for the guests in the 36th minute as his side went in at half time with a 1-0 advantage.

Trezeguet came on to replace Czech midfielder David Pavelka right after the break. The Egypt international needed only 12 minutes to level the scores at 1-1 after scoring from inside the box.

Two minutes later, the hosts were already 2-1 up as Ahmed Ildiz completed Kasimpasa’s comeback. Ali Gocmen made it 3-1 six minutes later following an assist from Trezeguet, before Samuel Emem Eduok scored the fourth 13 minutes from time.

Trezeguet scored his second of the night in the 80th minute as he chested the ball down to volley home from inside the area.

Despite the big Cup victory, Kasimpasa are struggling in the league as they currently sit 14th on eight points after five defeats, two draws and two wins. They will next face Goztepe on Friday.

Trezeguet was among 16 foreign-based players who were recently called up by Egypt manager Hector Cuper for the Pharaohs’ upcoming encounter with Ghana in the last round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
