Osama Nabih hopes to avoid Germany, Morocco in World Cup
Nabih said on a television programme that he hopes that the draw doesn’t put Egypt head to head with title holders, Germany and Morocco in the group stages of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The group stages draw will take place in December and will determine Egypt’s opponents.
“I do not want to face Germany,” Nabih Said. “Among the Arab teams, I hope to not face Morocco if they qualify alongside Saudi Arabia and Tunisia,” he added.
He also expressed his confidence on the team’s ability to qualify for the second round saying: “Whomever we will face in the groups stage, I am confident of the players’ ability to reach the second round of the World Cup in Russia,”
Egypt qualified to the world’s most prestigious competition for the first time in 27 years after beating Congo 2-1 at Borg El Arab Stadium in Egypt with one match to spare in the qualifications against Ghana to be played in November.
