Marwan Mohsen set to return to full training with Al Ahly
Al Ahly are set to welcome back Marwan Mohsen to full training after recovery from the ACL injury he sustained in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Marwan Mohsen tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while playing for Egypt against Morocco in the quarter-finals of the AFCON last January.
He has been ruled out since then and will finally return to the pitch after a very long time out. The Egyptian forward returned back from Germany on Saturday after receiving the good news that his ACL has completely healed.
The 28-year-old is expected to be back gradually in full training in the upcoming days, according to Al Ahly’s official website.
Mohsen has joined Al Ahly in July 2016 from Ismaily and has had a slow start to his career with the Reds, scoring just one goal in 13 appearances across all competitions.
It’s worth mentioning that FIFA had to pay for Mohsen’s salary during his recovery period due to the Club Protection Program. The program aims to help clubs with players injured playing for national associations in matches in the international agenda
