Pulis praises Hegazi despite Manchester City defeat
West Brom Albion manager Tony Pulis has heaped praise on Egypt’s Ahmed Hegazi after their 3-2 loss to leaders Manchester City last weekend.
The result left the Baggies in the 15th place on 10 points as they extended their winless run to eight games. They’ll next face Huddersfield on November 4.
Despite the defeat, Pulis praised Hegazi for putting in a strong performance. He said that the 26-year-old defender showed that he had the qualities of fine players in that particular encounter.
“Ahmed at the back showed signs of what a good player he is as well,” the 59-year-old coach told BBC after the game.
While affirming that City are a better side and that they have been rampant this season, Pulis said he was disappointed by the loss.
“There’s lots of pluses. We’re disappointed we’ve lost the game but put it in perspective – they’re a good side,” the Welsh manager added.
