Ismaily stays atop league standings after draw with ENPPI
Ismaily went top of the league on the seventh matchday after they beat Al Masry in the Canal Derby 2-1 with goals from Metwaly and Abdel-Hakim. This was Ismaily’s sixth match of the season
In this match, Arafa El-Sayed scored the first goal of the game, for ENPPI, in the 25th minute. The goal came from a follow up to a free kick.
In the 35th minute Ismaily drew level. This was after they were awarded a penalty which club legend Hosny Abd-Rabo put away.
Mohamed Awad, who was recently called up for the national team, made a series of crucial saves in the last 15 minutes of the game with Salah Mohsen and Diara going closest for ENPPI.
The draw result leaves El Darwish in first place with 17 points from seven games while ENPPI is in eighth place with 10 points from eight games.
Ismaily will next play against Tanta in the ninth week on November 16 while ENPPI will play Ittihad of Alexandria on November 15.
