Zamalek face threat of six-point deduction, says Ricardo’s agent
Agent of former Zamalek player Ricardo claimed that the White Castle will face a six-point deduction if they failed to immediately pay their ex-player.
FIFA sent the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) a letter last month, ordering Zamalek to pay outstanding wages of former player Ricardo Alves Fernandes before October 27 or face the consequences.
The Brazilian defender played just six matches for Zamalek in season 2008/09 and scored one goal before leaving to Pattaya United for free.
His agent Osama Metry said in a radio interview on Tuesday that, according to sources, if Zamalek failed to pay the player, they will be deducted six points in the league before next Friday.
“It doesn’t make sense that the club have yet to pay the player from 2008. We go from court to court and we have rulings that the player should be paid,” said Metry.
“If Zamalek send the 516,000 USD on Tuesday the problem will be solved. If they fail to do so, then they will be deducted six points by Friday maximum,” concluded the Brazilian’s agent.
