Turki ben Muhammad appointed as Al Ahli Jeddah President
Prince Turki ben Muhammad was officially appointed as Al Ahli Jeddah President on Sunday replacing Prince Fahd ben Khaled who was assigned a new role as a private advisor for the General Sports Authority.
Prince Turki’s name recently emerged as one of the club’s most important members of honor after he was assigned Presidency of the Executive Council of members of honor for the club in 2014.
“I’m honored to be appointed this role. I was the one responsible for the club’s strategies and plans before the start of the season so there won’t be big changes,” he told Al-Arabiya TV channel. “There might be a few improvements but this I will not talk about until I meet club managers to know all the needed details.”
It is worth noting that Egypt’s Mohamed Abdel-Shafy has made 86 appearances for Al Ahli since joining them in 2014 from Zamalek. He helped them lift the league title in 2016, the 2015 Saudi Crown Prince Cup as well as the King Cup and Saudi Super Cup in 2016.
Despite his successful spell, a report expected Al Ahli to dismiss the player in January as according to the report, the club’s manager Serhiy Rebrov doesn’t want him in the team.
