Walid Azaro: Criticism only makes me better
Al Ahly forward Walid Azaro has spoken following his brace against Entag El-Harby, which secured all three points in a 2-1 win on Thursday.
The Morocco international faced a lot of criticism in recent weeks, however he acknowledged that his performances are getting better following his brace against Entag El-Harby.
“I think I performed better today than the last couple of games,” Azaro told DMC Sports.
“All the criticism I get only makes me better. It gives me motivation and desire to perform better each and every game,” he added.
Azaro has also spoken highly of Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry, saying: “It’s great that he has this amount of confidence in me to put me in the starting lineup in so many games. This helps me to become a better player game by game.”
“It’s up to the manager to make these decisions. All I have to do is work hard and hope that I could get recalled to the national team again,” Azaro on his chances of joining the Morocco squad in the 2018 World Cup.
Azaro has now scored seven goals in only 11 games with Al Ahly across all competitions since his arrival from Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi.
