Egypt FA fines Mido, suspends Wadi Degla football director
Wadi Degla faced Misr El-Maqassa in the ninth fixture of the Egyptian Premier League in a match that witnessed a short withdrawal from Mido’s team after they conceded a second goal. The players later returned to the game and the match ended in a 3-3 tie.
The committee fined the club EGP 20,000 over the team’s withdrawal during the match and fined Mido EGP 5,000 for objecting. Sayed Metwally, the club’s football director, was suspended for two games and fined EGP 10,000 for invading the pitch, objecting and inciting players to forfeit the match.
Mido previously praised his players for making a come back against Maqassa, saying it required great charisma and great playing style. He also expressed his satisfaction with his team despite the poor results.
