Al Ahly forward Walid Azaro on Ligue 1 clubs radar – Report
The Morocco international joined the Red Devils from Difaa El Jadida last summer, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 12 games.
His performances caught the eyes of French sides Dijon and Montpellier HSC, with the latter sending an official offer to Al Ahly, according to Football365 Afrique.
Walid Azaro is considered a key player at Al Ahly, starting all six domestic games this season and scoring three goals.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Montpellier last summer, but he opted to choose Al Ahly as their offer was ‘more interesting’.
“It is true that I received offers from Europe and especially from France, but I preferred to choose Al Ahly’s offer, which was more interesting,” Azaro said last June.
The report also revealed that Dijon are in advanced talks with Walid Azaro, who still has four years left on his Al Ahly deal.
Dijon currently sit 13th in the French Ligue 1 with 13 points from 13 games, while Montpellier are eighth with 17 points.
