and Al Ahly legend has given his say on ’s World Cup draw which took place on Friday.

The World Cup draw set Egypt head to head against the hosting nation Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia in Group A with some former players admitting it is a balanced group.

Treika stated that falling in this group pushes Egypt to aspire for advancing to the round of 16 in the World Cup.

“The draw is good for Egypt and also for Saudi Arabia. The order of Egypt’s games by facing Uruguay then Russia then Saudi Arabia is also good,” Abou-Treika told beIN Sports.

“This group calls us to think about advancing to the next round in the World Cup. I see that the first spot in the group is reserved for Uruguay with Egypt, Russia and Saudi Arabia battling out for the second place.”

“We have a strong motive when we face Saudi Arabia because of the renowned game in the 1999 Confederations Cup and Egypt’s 5-0 defeat. God willing Egypt is capable of qualifying from this group.”
