SQUASH: Egypt reach final of the World Cup

and are taking Egypt to the final of the tournament after two fierce games against Hong Kong representatives Tsz Fung Yip and Max Lee.

Marwan leads Egypt to the finals in four fast-paced games against Hong Kong star Tsz Fung Yip in a 3-1 win 11-3, 8-11, 11-4, 11-7 (39m). The semifinal was won after beating Scotland player Greg Lobban in the quarterfinals.

“It’s amazing, we have the whole support of the federation here, it’s amazing for us, and hopefully we can bring the title to Egypt”, El Shorbagy said after the clash.

The World Champion Karim Abdel Gawad will too represent Egypt in the finals as he thrashed the Hong Kong representative Max Lee in a 3-2 clash 11-9 , 7-11., 12-10, 7-11, 11-7 (66m).

After the match, Abdel Gawad said, “Hong Kong had a great result yesterday, they played really well, so it was a very big test for us today. We are really happy to qualify for the final and I’m very glad I won today.”

The Egyptians recently met at the PSA Dubai World Series Finals in June, where Abdel Gawad claimed the victory.
