Squash: Mohamed ElShorbagy named PSA Men’s Player of the Month

World No. 2 Mohamed ElShorbagy has been named Men’s Player of the Month after winning two World titles in November.

The 26-year-old won both the Qatar Classic and Hong Kong Open to make it three World titles in a row after winning the Channel Vas Championships in October.

His great performances also moved him from the World No. 3 spot to World No. 2 in the latest PSA rankings.

On his way to the Qatar Classic title, ElShorbagy defeated October’s Player of the Month and fellow Egyptian Ali Farag, World No. 1 Gregory Gaultier, and World No. 7 and fellow countryman Tarek Momen.

In Hong Kong, he defeated Max Lee in round one, before beating French Lucas Serme, fellow Egyptian Mohamed Abouelghar, and younger brother Marwan. In the final, ElShorbagy prevailed against Ali Farag once again.

ElShorbagy’s title in Hong Kong was his 29th tour title of his career and his third in Hong Kong.

In addition to being a football/soccer and basketball enthusiast, I am currently pursuing a combined BS/MD degree at VCU. I also currently work as a Pharmacy Technician in my spare time.
