Egypt’s Rehab Ahmed won the gold medal at the World Para Powerlifting Championships in Mexico City in the Women’s Up to 50kg Group A Category.

The Egyptian champion, who won silver at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, was able to lift 113 Kg to snatch first place surpassing her Vietnamese and Turkish competitors at the Juan de la Barrera Gymnasium.

Rehab’s medal comes after the three-time Paralympic gold medalist Sherif Osman managed to win a gold medal at the same competition on Sunday after lifting 205kg in the 59kg category.

Another Pharaoh earned a medal at the World Para Powerlifting Championships on Sunday as 2010 World Champion Gehan Hassan lifted 125kg to win the bronze in the women’s 86kg category.
