Egypt-eligible Ahmed Fathi Abdoun called up to Qatar national team
Egyptian player Ahmed Fathi Abdoun was called up by Qatar’s interim coach Felix Sanchez to face Liechtenstein in Doha on December 14.
Ahmed, who plays for Al Arabi SC, is the son of Egyptian coach Fathi Abdoun who is leading Al-Sadd’s youth football academy and has been working with the club since 1993.
Sanchez and his team are eager to come out with a good result against Liechtenstein as they prepare for the 23rd Gulf Cup to be held in Kuwait from December 22 to January 5.
The interim coach also included feared winger Hassan Al Haydos who played 84 matches with Qatar national team and scored 14 goals, along with a number of young players
