Salah backed by Ghana coach for CAF Player of the Year
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has favoured Egypt international Mohamed Salah to beat Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the CAF Player of the Year award.
Salah has been shortlisted by the African association along with Mane and Aubameyang for the prize, following his outstanding year on club level, scoring a total of 35 goals with Roma and Liverpool in 2017, and his heroics with the Egyptian national team leading them to the World Cup for the first time in 28 years.
“I tip Mohamed Salah to win the Footballer of the year award, undoubtedly he has made a significant impact for both club and country,” Appiah told the press.
“All the three deserve the award because of what they have done this year, but for me I see Salah winning this particular one,” he added
It is worth noting that the current Premier League top scorer has recently managed to attain the BBC Africa Player of the Year for 2017.
