ENPPI return to top four after defeating Al Masry

have returned to the top four standings after defeating Al Masry in the 15th round of the on Friday.

The petroleum club defeated Al Masry 2-1 through a brace courtesy of Salah Mohsen and ENPPI defender Abdelrahman Amer scoring into his own net for Al Masry.

In the 6th minute, ENPPI went on the counter attack and Abdelrahman Amer was set up in the box but Mahmoud El-Sayed saved his shot and Salah Mohsen’s follow up was cleared off the line by Abdelnasser Di Maria

Four minutes later, the scoreline was opened as ENPPI’s defender Hamdi Fathi put Salah Mohsen through on goal with a brilliant long pass, the attacker rounded up the keeper and slotted it into the empty net.

A couple of minutes later, Mohsen put in a cross from the right side to Bassiouny, who was unmarked inside the box, but Sayed saved the ball from a close range.

In the same scenario of the first goal, Mohsen broke through Al Masry defenders by the halfway line to receive a long pass from Mohamed Magdi and finish it on Sayed’s left to complete the night’s brace and to increase his goal tally to seven goals in the league so far.

The Portsaid-based side pulled one back in the 56th minute as Abdelrahman Amer headed a high ball back to Emad El-Sayed but the goalkeeper was out of position and Amer put it into his own net.

ENPPI are now fourth with 24 points, two ahead of Zamalek and three behind third place, Al Masry. ENPPI and Al Nasr are set to meet on Wednesday in the 16th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
