Ittihad boss Sierra: Kahraba has to play
Jose Luis Sierra has defended Egypt international Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim ‘Kahraba’ after getting on the receiving end of criticism by the Ittihad faithful.
Kahraba, 23, has endured a difficult start to his second season with the Tigers, after taking the league by storm last term, in a season where he led his team to a cup title after scoring the winner in the final, and finishing as the club’s top scorer.
With the player failing to star for the club this season, he was met by heavy jeers from the fans during the club’s 3-3 draw against Al Faisaly, which led him to provoke them, telling the fans to remember last season when he won them the cup [video below].

The club’s Chilean manager got behind Kahraba in the post-match press conference saying: “There are no problems between us. In my opinion Kahraba has to play, I make the decision not you [journalist]. When he’s in form he’s by far the best forward in the team.”
The Zamalek loanee appeared 14 times for the Jeddah-based side in the Saudi Professional League this season, scoring three times and assisting the same amount.
