Al-Issawi appointed as Ismaily coach for second stint
After the surprising departure of French manager Sebastien Desabre, El Darawish appointed Al-Issawi for his second stint at the club. The club had announced after their 5-0 win against Al Ragaa earlier this week that the 41 year-old wanted to leave to takeover the Uganda national team job.
The former ES Tunis coach led the canal based club to eleven wins and four draws in sixteen games, managing to lose only once, against Al-Ahly, in the Egyptian Premier League.
Abu Taleb had already been in charge of the club during the 2016/2017 season, after the sacking of Czech coach František Straka, leading them to six wins and four draws in ten games, during which they managed to score thirteen goals and concede only four.
Ismaily currently sit on top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 36 points, putting them just four points away from second placed Al-Ahly.
