Since the start of the English Premier League in 1992/93, only one player had a better goal scoring rate than in a calendar year.

With 23 goals in 27 games for Liverpool in all competitions, Salah has a 0.85 goal scoring average beating some of Liverpool’s greatest.

Salah, who joined the Reds in the summer transfer window from Serie A side AS Roma, is sitting comfortably next to Robbie Fowler, Luis Suarez and Michael Owen among the list of best Liverpool goalscorers in a calendar year.

The 25-year-old Egypt international is ranked as the 10th best ever goalscorer for the Reds (since 1992/93) in a calendar year with his 23 goals, knowing the nine players ahead of him played a full season while he only started featuring for the Reds in August.

Only four players hold the nine records ahead of Salah. Fowler’s best season came in 1996 when he fired 37 goals in 49 games, Suarez scoring 33 goals in 33 ties 2013, Owen with 31 matchess in 49 games in 2001mand Fernando Torres with 24 goals in 41 fixtures.

The former Basel winger, who enjoyed an impressive start to life on Merseyside, has recently been crowned BBC African Footballer of the Year for 2017. He has also been named Premier League Player of the Month for November.
