Kahraba scores as Al Ittihad come from behind to advance in Saudi King’s Cup
Mahmoud Kahraba was on the scoresheet as his team overcame a scare to come back from a goal down and progress in the Saudi King’s Cup.
The home team took the lead through a counter-attacking move in the 23rd minute. Ittihad had opportunities to equalize in the first half but were forced to go to the break 1-0 down.
The equalizing goal came in the 67th minute when Mahmoud Kahraba was brought down in the box. Midfielder, Carlos Villanueva stepped up and scored.
Al Ittihad Jeddah went on to score two goals as the match came to a close. In the 81st minute, Ahmed Akaichi controlled a pass from Fahed Al-Ansari before putting away a lot shot at the Al Kawkab’s goalkeeper near-post.
Egyptian, Kahraba ensured a win for his team by scoring in the 86th minute. The forward got on the end of a Villanueva pass, behind the opponent’s defense, and blasted a half-volley that gave the goalkeeper little chance.

The win put Al Ittihad Jeddah through to the round of 16 as they look to end a 5-year wait for the King’s Cup. They next play the Saudi Classico match this coming weekend.
