Mortada Mansour sets Zamalek quartet for sale following derby defeat
Zamalek had their second setback in span of five days after 0-1 defeat to Tala’a El-Gaish, and lost 0-3 to Al Ahly in the 115th historic Cairo derby, which coincided with the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League, on Ehab Galal’s debut as the Whites coach. Goals came from Momen Zakaria, Abdallah El-Said off the penalty spot and Walid Azarou.
The White Castle president Mansour stated in a televised voice interview after the game that Zamalek quartet Hazem Emam, Bassem Morsy, Ali Gabr and Ahmed El-Shennawy for sale.
“There are four players that must look for new clubs and are set for sale, the four are Hazem Emam, Bassem, Ali Gabr and El-Shennawy,” Mansour told Sada El Balad channel.
“They just need to bring me any offer on the table and I’d willingly offer them my thanks for their services. They wasted the team’s effort, this coach [Ehab Galal] is a respectable manager and had no fault in this game, had Bassem Morsy not missed the penalty things would have been different.”
“I thank them for what they did in the past three years, now we got a new right back in Hamdy Nagguez. With all due respect to Ali Gabr, but we committed three mistakes that cost us three goals and these four players to be held accountable for these three errors.”
