OFFICIAL: Morocco’s Omar Najdi joins Petrojet on free transfer
The 31-year-old, returns to the Egyptian Premier League, having made over than 90 appearances for Misr El-Makkasa between 2011 and 2016 and scoring 12 goals.
He first signed for the Fayoum-based club in 2011, joining from Raja Casablanca, however, after only one season he returned to Morrocco to play for Wydad Casablanca for two years, before joining El-Makkasa again in 2014, helping them finish fourth in the league and reaching round of 16 of the CAF Confederation Cup.
In July 2016, he joined Emirati club Al Shaab for an undisclosed fee but was released after an unsuccessful stint and has been without a club since last July.
Najdi becomes the only second Morrocan player in the Egyptian Premier League this season, alongside Al Ahly’s forward and top scorer Walid Azaro.
Petrojet currently sit 12th in the league with 20 points and have been knocked out of the Egyptian Cup round of 16 by Smouha.
