Al Ittihad chairman confirms signing of Ahmed Magdy from Zamalek
Al Ittihad has concluded negotiations and agreed a deal to sign, midfielder, Ahmed Magdy from Zamalek. The signing was announced by the club’s chairman.
The Alexandria side is, this season, fighting to avoid the drop. The club has won only three matches in the 2017/2018 Egyptian Premier League season; collecting 16 points from 17 matches. Al Ittihad is ranked 14th.
Club chairman, Mohamed Meselhi has led moves to save the situation by getting busy in the transfer market. He reached an agreement with, his Zamalek counterpart, Mortada Mansour to sign Ahmed Magdy.
The 31 year old midfielder joins the Alexandria team on a one and half season contract. According to the club’s official website, Zamalek were holding out for a loan move. He is set to start training on Saturday, 13th January.
Al Ittihad have already brought in two players, a striker and a left back, in an exchange deal with Arab Contractors. Karim Al-Deeb and Karam Mustafa, respectively, joined the side with Hossam Paolo switching badges the other way.
Al Ittihad next play, league leaders, Ismaily away from home. The encounter kicks off at 5pm CLT this Saturday, 13th January, 2018.
