Matt Le Tissier: Salah is the Premier League signing of the summer
The Egyptian joined the Reds last summer from AS Roma, with many concerns over him due to his unsuccessful spell with Chelsea back in 2014.
However, six months since he has joined Liverpool, the 25-year-old has a staggering 22 goals across the Premier League and Champions League, to prove everyone wrong.
“I don’t think you could have asked for anything more and he’s exceeded everybody’s expectations,” Le Tissier wrote in his Sky Sports column.
He added, “I’d put him up there for player of the season so far with 17 goals (in the premier league) to his name already, although he has missed a few easy chances.”
Salah guided Egypt to the World Cup for the first time in 28 years and ended up as joint-top scorer in the African World Cup Qualifiers. His spectacular performances earned him the CAF player of the year award and a few weeks earlier, the BBC African footballer of the year.
