Mohamed Salah named Liverpool Player of the Month for fourth time
Egypt international Mohamed Salah has been named as the Liverpool Player of the Month for December, after scoring five goals in eight games.
The 25-year-old has been in superb form for Liverpool, scoring 23 goals and providing eight assists since his arrival, including five goals and three assists last month.
He found the target against Everton, Bournemouth and Arsenal, before netting twice against Leicester City, with his effort in the Merseyside derby being voted Liverpool Goal of the month.
“I’m very happy to win this award again. It’s always a good feeling for me to win this award because you work hard, you help the team to get points to achieve something,” Salah told Liverpoolfc.com.
“As I said before, the most important thing is to win the games, and we try to win each game.
“We are working [well] at the moment, we are [picking up] points, so we are in a good position – we have to carry on now,” he added.
It’s worth mentioning that Salah has won four Liverpool Player of the Month awards in just five months, losing the October’s one to Dejan Lovren. He also managed to scope the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for both November and December.
Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League with 44 points and their next game will be against leaders Manchester City on Sunday at the Anfield.
