Tunisia’s Ali Maaloul denies Al Ahly exit claims
Tunisia international Ali Maaloul has denied claims that he wants to leave Al Ahly, saying he is happy at the club after winning the Egyptian Super Cup.
Maaloul has joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2016, coming from his boyhood club C.S Sfaxien. He since played 48 games for the Cairo giants across all competitions, winning the domestic treble and reaching the CAF champions league final.
The right-back has been linked with a move to Tunisian giants E.S Tunis as well as a couple of French sides, but he confirmed that he doesn’t want to leave the club anytime soon.
“I don’t think about leaving, especially when I play for the best team in Africa and with all of these great players,” Maaloul said when asked on whether or not he will be leaving the club in the near future.
“Al Ahly and the national team are the main reasons for my good performances lately and I’m willing to give my all to the fans and to win more trophies,” he added.
The Tunisian international played a major role in his country’s qualification to the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He also featured in the CAF team of the year alongside his teammates Ahmed Fathi and Junior Ajayi.
