Momen Zakaria speaks about Al Ahli Jeddah move
Zakaria’s participation in the Super Cup matcha gainst Al Masry was his last after signing a six-month $400,000 loan deal with Saudi outfit Al Ahli Jeddah.
“Winning the Super Cup after beating Al Masry and defeating Zamalek 3-0 is the best way to end my time with Al Ahly for now,” Zakaria said. “Playing in Saudi Arabia will not decrease my chances of joining the Egyptian national team, the Saudi Professional league is very strong and Al Ahli Jeddah is one of the toughest teams there.”
The move came after the Saudi team was hit with several injuries of which the 29-year-old attacking midfielder is set to compensate for. Zakaria returned with the Red Devils to Cairo and is set to leave to Saudi Arabia on Monday.
“I will miss the club, players, staff, fans and the administration during my loan. I will be back again in about five months,” he added.
The 29-year-old also expressed his eagerness to play against Mahmoud Kahraba in the Jeddah derby. He will also face fellow Egyptians Essam El-Hadary, Shikabala and Ahmed El-Sheikh who play in the same league.
