Mohamed Salah eager to face Man City
Both teams are set to meet at Anfield stadium on Sunday with Liverpool looking to retaliate after their 5-0 lose against City in the first round of the league.
Klopp assured that the Egyptian international is fit to face Man City after recovering from a groin injury, which made him miss his side’s last two encounters against Burnley and Everton
“It’s the kind of game I love and for the fans it’s something different,” Salah told Liverpool’s official website. “Us and Man City are both playing great football, so it will be a perfect game and I’m very excited.”
The young Pharaoh aims to increase his goal tally after scoring 17 goals in 21 matches in the league this season. He is currently one goal away from league top scorer Harry Kane.
“I’m sure we can have a good result. They play fantastic football but, for me, I just think about my team,” he added. “We will see on Sunday.”
Salah said that he loves playing in Anfield noting the great atmosphere created by fans. The Reds managed to avoid defeat in their 16 matches at Anfield so far this season.
“We try to play each away game like it’s at home – the most important thing is to win the game – but at home we feel more confidence with the support from the fans,” he said. “It makes it like we have 12 players.”
