Walid Azarou: Al Ahly is my way to the World Cup
Al Ahly striker Walid Azarou is confident that his club is going to help him reach the FIFA World Cup with Morocco national team next summer in Russia.
The 22-year-old who moved to the Red Castle in August 2017 scored nine goals with the club in the Egyptian Premier League in 22 appearances, four goals in CAF Champions League and one goal in Egypt Cup.
Azarou spoke after scoring the winning goal that helped Al Ahly win the Super Cup match beating Al Masry 1-0 assuring his happiness playing for the Egyptian giants.
“I am happy with the trust I gained from coach Hossam El-Badry and the fans. I hope I can help the team win more championships,” he said.
“I have a number of goals I want to achieve with the team and I am not thinking about playing abroad now being committed to a contract with one of the biggest club in Africa,” he explained. “Al Ahly will help me go to the World Cup with the Moroccan national team.”
