Mortada Mansour announces intention to run for Egyptian Presidency
In a shocking move, Zamalek club president Mortada Mansour has announced his intention to run in the Egyptian presidential elections.
“I will go to the House of Representatives on Sunday to talk with the deputies,” Mortada said.
“I will definitely go to the provinces to discuss economic, health, education, and social goals as part of my electoral program”, the Zamalek president continued.
When asked about whether he will be removed as president of Zamalek in the event he wins, Mansour said: “I will definitely resign if I win the election”.
“The slogan of my campaign will be ‘we must all work’,” he said. “I will choose the lion’s symbol, the lion who fights terrorism.”
The first round of the presidential elections in Egypt will take place between March 26 and 28, and the second round between April 24 and 26.
