Rami Rabia ruled out for at least two months with groin injury
Al Ahly have confirmed defender Rami Rabia will be out for at least two months with a groin injury after limping off during Zamalek clash.
The Egypt international defender started the Cairo Derby before being substituted in the 66th minute due to injury as Al Ahly thrashed their rivals 3-0.
The news means Rabia will miss the next 13 league games – including a top of the table clash against Ismaily. He will also probably miss Egypt’s two friendlies against Portugal and Bulgaria.
Rabia has only returned from injury last month, which made him miss 10 league games. He played six club games this season, with the Reds only conceding two goals with him on the pitch.
The injury makes Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib and Ayman Ashraf as Hossam El-Badry’s only defensive options, which will probably make El-Badry look to sign another centre-back.
Al Ahly have been already linked with Misr El-Makkasa’s Ahmed Samy after the 25-year-old represented the Red Devils against Atletico Madrid last December.
